Last night, the Crowne Plaza Doha The Business Park held host to one of many special dinners designed by Michelin-starred chefs this month in celebration of the different cuisines from across the globe. Japenese chef Takagi Kazuoto specially prepared for his guests a delightfully delicious homage to Japanese cuisine and passed on his tips and tricks to Executive Chef Dominique Morin to showcase to us last night.
In attendance was H.E. Shingo Tsuda, Ambassador of Japan to Qatar, various bloggers in and around Doha, and our Editor Annabel, all of whom enjoyed a variety of Japanese dishes. Chef Kazuoto comes from a background in culinary speciality, his mother was a culinary school instructor, mentoring her son in the art of Kyoto cuisine. Cooking was a passion of Kazuotos from an early age and he knew he wanted to be a part of the wonderful world of food since he was 3 years old.
Specialising in world-class Kyoto cuisine, Takagi Kazuo has enjoyed an inspirational career. Starting out at the age of 23, he turned passion, dedication and incredible talent into a string of culinary accomplishments. Dubbed the Master of Japanese Cuisine, his dishes showcase exceptional balance and precision, their delicate flavours winning his Kyoto restaurant, Takagi, two Michelin stars. Guests last night enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal, with Tempura, Seared Beef, and a Berry and Green Tea Compote being highlights of the menu.
