You may remember blue eyeshadow as the horrendous trend of the 70’s, but it’s back and more beautiful than ever for SS/16. Models have been donning the catwalks of London, Paris and New York showcasing a stunning selection of blue hues from baby blue and eggshell to the more sultry aquamarine and navies. Now it’s time for you to join the SS/16 trend.
Don’t jump in straight at the deep end, if you’re afraid of going overboard with blue make like Diane Von Furstenberg and showcase a subtle eggshell eye. Our favourite is Shisheido’s shimmering cream eye colour in shade BL215. The colour and shine will last all day without creasing. Alternatively, for something with a little bit more pop and shimmer, try the Nyx Cosmetics prismatic eyeshadow in shade blue jeans.
For a darker, more sultry shade go for the Nars velvet eyeshadow stick in shade oaxaca. Substitute boring old black with dark blues and navies for a more contemporary take on the smokey eye. This Nars shadow will certainly draw attention wherever you go – wear alone, or pair with the brand new limited edition hardwired eyeshadow powder in shade canberra. The powder will give an intense iridescent sheen that lasts all night!
For those of you brave enough to go the whole-hog and vamp it up with a brighter, turquoise shade our favourite is the Kiko long-lasting eye cream in shade 15 pearly turquoise. With this cream eyeshadow you’ll get a very dramatic colour so if you want to tone it down a tad, we recommend pairing it with the Lancôme Ombre Hypnôse long wear eye cream stick in shade 6 turquoise infini.
Be bang on trend this summer with the biggest eyeshadow trend of the year!
