Hotel de Russie, a Rocco Forte hotel in Rome, announces the upcoming completion of the full refurbishment of two of its most important Suites – Suite Popolo and Suite Picasso – as well as the soft renovation of a selection of rooms and suites throughout different categories
From mid-April, guests will be able to enjoy the splendour of Rome from one of the best hotels of the city, experiencing the glamorous suites designed by Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels. The two suites are redesigned in style of private apartments and uniquely adorned with original artworks and antique furniture.
The newly Popolo and Picasso Suites are the flagship suites of the newly launched “Rocco Forte Suite Experience” program, forming two of the “Forte Suites”, the absolute top level of suites on offer across the ten European hotels. The new concept gives travellers an indulgent and generous experience from arrival to departure.

Located on the top floor of the hotel, the newly designed Popolo Suite – 100 square meters with a 45 square meter private terrace overlooking the iconic Piazza del Popolo – features a generous, elegantly furnished master bedroom including a walk-in wardrobe with dedicated spaces “for him” and “for her”.
The spacious suite has both a comfortable sitting and a dining area. The main bathroom features a double shower with separate bath tub decorated with Calacatta Oro Italian marble and a large mosaic panel. The second powder bathroom is for guests. The Suite features timber floors and offers the option to connect to a second bedroom. It is furnished with antique and midcentury pieces. All the fabrics are Italian, greens and burnt amber in luxurious silks and velvets.
Named after the famous painter who stayed at the hotel in 1917, Suite Picasso, 80 square meters with a 25 square meter private terrace, offers a breathtaking view over the beautiful Secret Garden of the Hotel and features an exquisitely designed living room, a separate dining room with a private fully serviced bar and a small library. In addition, there is a spacious walk in wardrobe and two bathrooms, a master with a double shower and separate bathtub decorated with Calacatta Oro Italian marble and a large mosaic panel, as well as a second one for guests. The bedroom has been opened up so that light floods through the whole suite, giving a bright, airy feel. The Suite is decorated with Papal yellows and purples Italian natural fabrics and embellished with antique pieces alongside classic modern Italian furniture and a few eclectic decorative objects. There are touches throughout the suite remembering Picasso, such as prints and cushions with his designs.
